THE MOST DANGEROUS ANIMALS

You may think that sharks, crocodiles or lions are the world’s deadliest animal. But, according to the record, none of them are ranked in the top 3 of the most dangerous animals in the world.

So, what are the official top 3 in the list of world’s most dangerous animals? According to the World Health Organization, WHO, mosquito is the number 1 on the list. Because, these little insects kill about 725,000 people each year with mosquito-borne diseases. And, the top among several mosquito-borne diseases is Malaria. Every year, there are 200 millions people who affected by this mortal disease. And, it’s estimated that around 600,000 people died from Malaria.

Next, the second most dangerous animals in the world is snake. It’s estimated that 50,000 people are killed every year by snakes. And, snake that causes the most death in the world is “Saw-scaled viper”. Also known as Echis carinatus, this viper inhabits in India and the Middle East. Even it doesn’t possess the strongest of venoms like other well-known snakes, but the fact that this snake loves to live in human populated areas is the reason why they kill more human annually than any other snake.

For the third on the list of the most dangerous animals in the world, it belongs to “The tsetse fly”. Fly? Are you kidding? YES, it’s the fly. Well, this tsetse fly has the similar appearance as the ordinary housefly. But this fly love to suck the blood from animals including humans. Just like mosquito, the tsetse fly carries some horror with it. Since, these fly is the carrier of African trypanosomiasis, also known as sleeping sickness, which is an insect-borne parasitic disease. And, around 10,000 people die from the disease each year. Mostly in sub-Saharan Africa.

However, in my opinion, I think human is the most dangerous animals in the world. According to the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, there were more than 500,000 homicides yearly. And, among 7,632,819,325 human population, I personally believe that rich people is the top of the most dangerous animals in the world. Because, besides those 500,000 homicides case, rich people are always behind several kind of deaths too.

Like those trophy hunters or arms dealers. In Thailand, recently, we just had a similar case too. On 8th February 2018, Thai people were filled with rage on a news headline about a construction tycoon charged with hunting wildlife in sanctuary. Entering the World Heritage forest is obviously illegal yet he and his hunting team allegedly killed a black panther, a Kalij Pheasant and a barking deer too.

Skinned carcasses of these endangered animals were found at the group’s camping site. The black leopard was brutally killed by 5 gunshots. It’s not surprising that this billionaire tried to bribe the officials. However, this time it’s not easy for him like always.

At the moment, Thai people are now deeply thankful that the park rangers turned down the bribery and seriously enforced the law.

Isn’t it sad to hear such news? This black leopard is Thailand’s natural heritage, and no one, whoever they are, has the right to kill this endangered animal at all. Now, I still don’t understand why people have to kill animals for fun. And I don’t think that I will ever understand them at all.
